Edmonton Advances to Second Round of Playoffs

The Edmonton Oilers advanced to the second round of the playoffs Monday night, defeating the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 in a thrilling Game 7 matchup at Rogers Arena.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins led the way for the Oilers with a goal and an assist, while Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl each added a goal. Connor Hellebuyck made 38 saves to earn the win in net.

The Oilers controlled the game for most of the night, leading 3-0 with just over 10 minutes remaining in the third period. However, the Canucks rallied back with two quick goals to make it a one-goal game with just over two minutes to play.

But the Oilers held on for the victory, sending the Canucks home and advancing to the second round, where they will face the Calgary Flames.
